The purpose of the New England Trail College Network is to develop long-term relationships with the college communities along the NET, and to build relevancy among young people for National Trails and National Parks and its primary trail partners, Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) and Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA). This new trailwide partnership includes college students and interested faculty who, in conjunction with NET, AMC and CFPA, seek to engage other college students in recreation and trail stewardship while serving as ambassadors to younger people in urban centers near the trail.
